Who We Are

Our Story

In the fall of 2015, a group of about 25 people from Junction City Church of the Nazarene met at a house south of Chapman with the sole purpose to pray and seek the Lord for direction. At the time, this group knew that they were called to plant a church in Chapman, Kansas.

The group outgrew the house in which they were meeting and started praying for God to provide the next step in His plan. It was around the same time that another church in town had made the decision to close their doors. The plan of this church was to sell to the highest bidder and it was voted on by JC Naz to place a bid on behalf of this church plant. Prior to the bid being due, an offering was taken up to put towards the bid for the building.

The bid amount presented was significantly lower than the other two prospects that were trying to purchase the church. There was a church member of the previous church who tells her account of what happened next,

“As I opened the bids and looked at them, I saw JC Naz’s bid and thought to myself, ‘I really expected for this to be more. I think they missed a “1” or “2” in front of their bid.’ Yet as I passed it onto the next board member I felt God’s thumb in my back and He said, ‘This is the one who will get it.’ It was voted on by the local Lutheran church board to sell it to JC Naz.”

On Easter Sunday 2016 Chapman Naz officially launched and today is a fully organized church. We are passionate about establishing the kingdom of God here in Chapman and beyond. At Chapman Naz we say, come as you are, WE ARE ALL IN!

Holiness in the life of believers is most clearly understood as Christlikeness.

Our Beliefs

We believe in one God—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.

We believe that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.

We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.
